Revegetation

Maccaferri NZ offers a range of products which assist the establishment of vegetation in new and existing landscape areas. These include Biomac W & C, Enkamat, MacMat-R, Rootbarrier and Geoweb.

Biomac Woolmulch is a fully biodegradable matting reinforced with a jute mesh used to provide erosion control and retain soil moisture during the initial establishment period of plants and groundcover on slopes. The Biomac C range are coir fibre blankets used in the medium term (2 to 3 years in most climatic conditions) for preventing soil erosion and re-establishing plant vegetation.

Enkamat has a three-dimensional structure which provides root systems with permanent reinforcement to promote vegetation. Ideally suited for grass and shallow rooted plants subject to hydraulic flow.

MacMat-R is a composite of coated steel mesh and a 3D polyethylene matrix which provides permanent reinforcement of shallow rooted vegetation. The tensile strength of MacMat-R allows use on over steep slopes where there is risk of vegetation shearing off the subgrade when saturated

Rootbarrier provides a barrier against migration and spreading of plant roots which can cause costly damage to pavements, roads, building foundations and buried installations. It also redirects root downwards to encourage deep rooting to anchor trees and to avoid root circling.

Geoweb is a multi functional cellular soil containment system that allows a larger thickness of soil to be placed on steep slopes than blanket systems or when layered, becomes an earth retention system. The retaining wall system allows for construction flexibility and provides aesthetics through a completely vegetated face. Horizontal terraces are formed where vegetation can flourish in the exposed outer cell infill.
