Geosynthetic products are utilised in many aspects of road construction. Geotextile fabrics such as Bidim and Mactex provide separation between the subgrade and aggregate improving the long term functioning of the road. Constructing of hall roads over soft soil is made possible using geotextiles and additional reinforcing will be gained by including Tensar Triax geogrid. 

Drainage installation will also improve the life of a road and can be achieved using Megaflo (filtered panel drain) to keep water out of the road structure.

River and stream crossings with culverts and bridges require protection against erosion. Wire mesh gabions and Reno mattresses filled with rock are an effective means to provide long term protection. Gabions have also been used as landscape features for property entrances.
