The safety of people and the protection of plant and equipment is paramount in mining and quarrying operations. Falling rocks pose a major hazard and need to be controlled either through meshing to hold them in position or by the placement of barriers where a safety hazard exists.

Maccaferri are able to provide a number of solutions to control the movement of rock down cliff faces. Stabilisation using specially manufactured mesh and cables systems can be used with or without rock bolts. Where rock displacement is a strong likelihood then barrier fences can be installed to protect people and plant. The Maccaferri range of barrier fences have been tested to withstand the impact from rocks having a mass from 1.5 tonne to 15 tonne.
